Some way or another I came across a new line of virtual invitations a few weeks ago called
Paperless Post. Having never been a big fan of the Evite, I am reluctantly coming around. While I snub the electronic invitation under my breath, I try not to be overly judgmental. I think I've broken down and even sent one or two out at the last minute. Since the virtual invitation is becoming more acceptable, I have decided to send only Paperless Posts. They are AWESOME. You can create a chic invite that actually looks like an actual invitation yet has the tracking mechanism associated with the standard (and dreadful) Evite.
You should try them. They are REALLY tastefully done and cool.
Only if you must, though.
Seriously.
Did I mention that it's mostly free?
Do YOU use electronic invitations?
Looks like a really cute alternative to the Evite! I never like them either, especially since they make you "sign up" to receive one - boo!
ReplyDeleteI love My Punchbowl for the same reasoning - it looks like a real invite, but then gives you the opp to do potluck signups, a message board, and more!
ReplyDeleteAnother option other then evite it great! I am going to try it today for a dinner party. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are bringing the details of real world invites into the virtual.
ReplyDeleteI simply cannot bring myself to do it. I am strictly old school-I use calligraphy and even address my own invitations.
ReplyDeleteSome things should never change. :-)
I use Evite for casual things, but for special occasions, I always send a paper invitation. Nothing can replace that! I am also a stationary fanatic and never pass up the opportunity to select a cute card for people.
ReplyDeleteI recently used Paperless Post for a party I was throwing for a friend - I love it! If you have to go electronic, it's not a bad option.
This looks great!! I love electronic invites and I have been using Purple Trail. This looks like a good option too.
ReplyDeletehmmm you just advised me of something new.
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I am a socializr.com sending fool, lol. Well, at least for my quick get together's. This seems much more appropriate for more formal events. Thanx for the new site!
ReplyDeletei just used it for a crawfish boil. i love that they look like actual invitations.
ReplyDeleteFINALLY! Something other than evite!
ReplyDeleteHallelujah, thanks for sharing!

They do have some awfully pretty selections!
ReplyDeleteI do think paper invitations are always best. I hosted a shower with a group of ladies and I was the only one who wanted to do paper invites. They were being cheap, I mean budget conscious. The evite also made it easier for the Bride(ZILLA) to tack on more guests at the end (to try to get more gifts-UGH!)
ReplyDeleteI am a huge paper person. I believe in handwritten notes, but I discovered a similar service a few weeks ago - Pingg - and I must admit I'm a bit smitten. I like this one too! However, I will never let these electronic notes take over . . . power to the paper!
ReplyDeleteFrom what I can tell I definitely like these much more than Evites. I'm not a big fan of the Evite either. Thanks for sharing. Hope you're having a good week! -Cristi
ReplyDeleteI adore Paperless Post! It just goes to show that the very mundane becomes exticing and beautiful when paired with a dash of sophistication and taste.
ReplyDeleteNow you have me going. This post makes me want to throw a party so that I can send invites. Hmmm...
I really despise Evite! Thanks for sharing!!
