I Get By With A Little Help...

Fabulous lamp, isn't it?

Well...I wasn't convinced I needed it. Only $40, the twinkle in my eye was drawn to it but I couldn't justify my taking the plunge.  It was my "style" (Check.) and could be easily married in my office project or in our family room. Then I talked myself out of it. Blech. The white lampshade (and that dreadful plastic which covered it) threw me off.

I picked up my phone and called my sister from another mama, Annette. I sent her a quick text of this photo and the possibilities unleashed.  What about covering the shade in a deep burlap or a charcoal gray?, she insisted suggested. The lamps were BORN (and I grabbed 'em).  Thank goodness for friends; especially friends who are celebrity stylists, right? Ha!

What type of shopper are you? Confident in your decisions? Or do you sometimes need a little nudge?

  1. I'm a pretty confident shopper, with everything except home decor. It takes forever for me to decide on the perfect chair, vase or special touch. I guess I see it as a marriage of sorts -- Does that mean I'm a commitment phobe?? LOL So I do need a bit of a nudge at times.

  4. That is a wonderful lamp with plenty of potential. My eyes twinkled with stars in them when I first saw the picture you posted. I am a confident shopper, except for when I am buying clothing for myself (weigh gain has thrown me off and made me unsure of myself). I love to decorate and shop around and mix and match. I can not wait to see what you find next! Happy Decorating!

  5. When it comes to home decor I need a nudge. I will mull over the same lamp, table or chair for weeks, even months. Its awful. I have a friend that is really pushy so she helps me get it together sometimes. This reminds me that my house is still quite empty and undecorated. I need to do better....

  7. I definitely need help with picking out stuff for the house. I have been known to text pictures of myself in clothes from the dressing room as well! (They typically are followed by the reply, "WTH?!" LOL)

  8. Some things I'm confident in and some things I need more than a nudge. A swift kick in the *bleep* does the trick.

  9. I'm not a creative shopper. Somehow I only would have seen the plastic. Some people have such an incredible eye.

  10. You are a lucky girl to be friends with Annette Joseph. She has such great taste!

So did I miss it? Where did you find this? Homegoods?
