Hellllp! TBS Has No Clue What To Wear!

So Mr TBS has taken it upon himself to buy tickets to a concert on Friday night. I'm sort of excited about it because it's rare that we have an opportunity to step out on Fridays because he's usually working. One his favorite hip hop/jazz fusion groups is coming to town and it's a great kick off to the Valentine's weekend.

Well here's where the paranoia sets in...

My style is more J Crew-ish and I'm nervous about what to wear to a concert. Jeans will definitely be in order but I need your opinions.  Will I look too mom-ish if I wear a similar combination of the items above (because I dare not buy a thing new just for this)? Oh! I also wouldn't wear the lapel flower...don't worry.

What do YOU wear to casual music concerts these days?

  1. The only thing that's mom-ish is the cardigan. Do you have a jacket?

  2. a nice fitted tee-shirt with more emphasis on accessories (big hoops, a scarf, extra special eye makeup) is a safe approach for these types of events, i think. you'll likely be standing /dancing at that venue... your pictured boots look cute and comfy enough. pair with a blazer instead of a cardigan, and i'll think you'll be hawt!

    hope to see u there!

  3. I, in fact, do have a few blazers to choose from. Hmmmm....

Anyone else? Other suggestions that might be a resource to future concert attendees?

  4. I love their idea of a fitted t-shirt with embellishments on it, plus the blazer, how cute! Def go with hoops or a fun bag, something bigger than what you'd normally wear to work. Can't go wrong with the fitted jeans though!!

  5. I love the idea of adding some bling! Perhaps something simple and understated like this cute tank from your very favorite J Crew:

With a great blazer on top & a BIG cocktail ring... could be pretty fabulous!?!?!

    Enjoy :-)

  6. I would add something shiny to the jeans like some sequined flats or a sparkly blouse. Something casual enough to wear with jeans but sparkly for evening.

  7. Do you own earrings with skulls? :)Oh, wait, it's jazz. Earrings with dice? If not, just go with big.....

  9. I like what you've put together, and I'll put myself out the and say I actually like the flower too. It's I like the j crew look--I would just say (if you want to nix the flower) add a hot necklace and minimal earring and you should be good. For casual I almost always do a dark jean (trouser) and something cute but sexy on top. I'm also big on earrings and bracelets, so that's probably the route I would go. Please post pics of what you end up wearing and photos from the night if avail.

  10. I actually like the flower myself but think the cardi is a bit too casual.

I like sparkly/blingy tops that show a bit of skin..maybe a halter underneath that blazer..*rowr*

If you bling on top then earring should be minimal and of course bangles and a cocktail ring.

  15. I would pair either the leopard flats or the black patent flat with the lovely boing on the toe with either a Black pant or jean. A crisp white blouse with a multicolor wrap or shawl paired with a funky necklace and the lucite bracelets. Add you cutest bag and a I am The TBS and groove on.
