The Broke Socialite + Martha = Mayhem

Oh yes, that Martha! Can you believe it?

On January 14, I have been invited to participate in The Martha Stewart Show's taping on bloggers and what makes them tick.  My dear friend Ashley of IceMilk Aprons (you must see Ashley's line of heirloom (and stylish) kitchen wear) has orchestrated it all.  When I got the news, I was so speechless that I could barely respond to the email confirming my attendance.  Though I've accepted the lovely reality of it all, I'm STILL overwhelmed and amazed.

My emotions have run the gamut: Are they SURE they want me to come? to What ever will I wear? (with the most energy spent on the latter, for course)

I know all of the details will fall in place and I've sorta figured what I'm going to wear, so I can ease some of the pressure.

As a participant in the show, one of the questions that we had to answer as part of the acceptance of the invitation was "Do you experience any challenge in gardening, cooking or crafts that you'd like to ask Martha about?" Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah! My question for The Big M centers around my ability as a Southern country girl to make the perfect buttermilk biscuits. I can't. My street credibility amongst the rural set is waning.  Hopefully, Martha's staff will choose my quandary for the air. Who knows?

What would YOU ask Martha Stewart about gardening, cooking or crafts if you had the opportunity?

  1. I am SO excited for you!! I would totally ask about what her favorite go-to recipes are for weeknight cooking, since everyone seems to have their favorite list and goodness knows Martha's is likely fab :)

  2. CONGRATS, TBS-I will make sure to tune in to see your big screen appearance. You must be just *buzzing* with excitement!! I don't know what in the world I would ask Martha-in all her perfection I find her- -*intimidating*- -and would likely just stand and stutter. I am most positive you, however, will charm her perfectly pressed pants off (or you know what I mean).

:-) Have a great day Lady and a 2nd big congrats to both you and The Boy on his acceptance!

  3. Congratulations! I love Martha Stewart--I mean I LOVE her. If I could ask her anything domestic-related, I would definitely ask her gardening questions. I'd either ask her how late into the season she plants vegetables and other edibles--she keeps a winter garden--or I'd ask her how to get the greatest yields from my raised bed gardens for summer al fresco dining. What plants will be most useful for summer feasts?

OMG, I am so excited for you. I will be DVRing you. (Not that I don't already DVR Martha!)
