Menu Planning For 2009

I am guilty as charged!

I rarely plan for meals in a formal fashion but know that I need to do so much better. I know the drill: it maximizes groceries and, ultimately, saves money. I did a bit of research to find menu-planning tools and thought it'd come in handy to those who are menu-planning -challenged like me.

Check out the following resources:

Do you formally plan your menus? If not, why? If you do, any tips to share?

  1. These are great sites! I've never thought to use a tool like those for my menu planning.

We almost ALWAYS plan menus, but we don't always stick to them. Sometimes cravings play a big part in what I cook lol.

Everyone is involved in the menu planning down to the kids. They all let me know what they want and when I get the circulars I sit down and plan it all according to what is on sale.

MOST times this works but sometimes it doesn't.

I am craving Shrimp and Grits and that is NO where in my menu plan for this week but I will make it lol.

    I really enjoy your blog!!

  2. Thank you so much. I really need this. I eat out way to much and I hate to cook. My husband does cook and I told him I would plan meals, so this is a great start for me.

  3. Hiya! Visiting via Creole in Dc's spot; been lurking for a while.

I most definatley plan my meals! It not only saves time and money at the grocery store but I can pre-prep most meals on the weekend. I can plan easy meals around days I know we are going to be busy so there will be no eating out temptations or drive thru drive-bys!

I love not having to think about what's for dinner after I have worked all day.

Tip: Plan your meals around your grocery store's specials.

  4. I rarely plan my meals although I often plan to. Maybe this is something I should implement in '09.

  6. Currently I menu plan, and I must admit it is one of the best things I have ever done. It has virtually eliminated the Question, Soooo, what are we gonna eat tonight? Plus it focuses my shopping and helps me make healthier choices.

Thanks for the sites; I will be checking them out!
