T-7 And Counting...Disney Dream Cruise

In exactly ONE week, Mr TBS and I will be headed to Florida to hop aboard a special cruise on the brand new Disney Dream!  We are suffering from quite the cabin fever right now as a snow and ice storm has paralyzed Atlanta for the past few days.

We will arrive in Orlando next Tuesday afternoon and set sail on a 3-Day cruise to The Bahamas.  The wonderful Disney Cruise Lines team have lots of surprises in store for us.  Mr TBS and I can not WAIT to share our experience from the perspective of empty nesters who enjoy all things Disney.

As soon as this snow/ice melts, I'm off to beautify and exchange my boots for sandals and my wool coats for sundresses....if only for a few days.

Have YOU cruised before? What have been your favorite excursions?

  1. Have a fantastic time. Take lots of pictures. I've never been on a cruise before because I'm a big ole chicken when it comes to water. I cannot swim and try not to get anywhere near large bodies of water. Bon Voyage!

  3. ALASKA! Hands down. Absolutely stunning. Even though I was hosting a group of 40, it was a once in a lifetime trip. GO!

  4. We Toured Hawaii via cruise last month and it was great. Snorkeling was probably our favorite excursion.

Have a great time and I look forward to hearing about it.

  5. I've been on a few cruises. Love the pampering, the great food, and meeting new people. My favorite excursions are always the cheap ones, the walking tours with lecturers, the botanical tours, bicycle tours, simple easy access to the culture you're visiting. I don't need helicopter "flight-seeing" to feel like I've really been there.

  6. I've done the Bahamas for 4 days/3nights, and it was wonderful. That was my first cruise ever and it was me and my girlfriend and we had the time of our lives!!! Partied hard with folks we did not know!

  7. I just got back from one and had a blast! This time I went swimming with dolphins, did a banana boat ride, and my eldest daughter went Para Sailing with me. It was AWESOME!

  11. I have cruised lots of times with my family. We always have a blast!! Our favorite was the 12 day Mediterranean cruise where we did a 10 hour tour of Rome. Breathtakingly beautiful and one of my favorite memories of family vacations. Have fun!!!

  14. So, I am the lone voice of not enjoying cruise! We left out of New Orleans July of 05 - I thought it was boring... The food only so-so... and I have this thing about liking my food hot not mildly warm. AND don't get me started about the kid's activities (what a waste).

I have found I am much more of a destination person. I don't like being stuck in the floating hotel watching cruise ship performers slide across the stage. PS we went all out. Had a balcony room with a king size bed and sitting area.

  15. We cruise quite a bit because it's so cheap from here. My favorite was swimming with the dolphins in Mexico. I hope you get a lot of rest and relaxation--so that you return rejuvenated and full of surprises!
