Baubles, Baubles and More Baubles!

I have a problem, y'all.

*inching a bit closer to you*

I've never met a big, fat, ostentatious, chunky necklace that is affordable (and doesn't look cheap) that I could turn down.  The bulkier the better and, in fact, I'd say that fabulous baubles have become a part of my signature look.

For the past few years, I've been trying to find a way to organize them that: 1. I personally liked and 2. was not a "lady" or "evening gown" (you've seen these, I'm sure...HATE them).  I stumbled upon these simple yet utilitarian jewelry trees at Marshall's. Can you believe they were on clearance? I was able to grab them both for less than $10!  The Broke Socialite is back, y'all!  I did spin on my heels to check for the Candid Camera/Punk'd crew.  I even had one of the associates scan them to cut down any embarrassment that I might experience when I got to the cash wrap.

I'd grown so tired of tripping over the necklaces in my jewelry box(es).  I could never get a glimpse of all of my options until now. It's the little things, y'all....the little things.

How do YOU organize and store your fun jewelry? Any creative tips to share? What about earrings, rings and bracelets?

  1. My collection has increased significantly over the last year so for Christmas my sister got me a jewelry box and one of those necklace racks. I can't wait to organize them. Your racks are like works of art!

  5. I keep all my jewelry in a drawer in my bathroom. In the drawer everything is in 4 clear plastic boxes (tops removed) with compartments like this: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/227327868/Plastic_tool_boxes_Tool_cases.html

  6. I'm a huge organization nut(the container store is my fav store) so I love this idea. I have mine in a box right now and haven't found anything better to store them and keep them organized. Thanks for posting this! It's a great idea!

  8. I need Talking With Tami's free standing jewelry chest! I have a system from the container store, but my jewelry collection outgrew it long ago. Envious of Tami! But, glad you found the perfect fix for you. You're right, it's the little things . . .

    Stylishly yours,
    Kalyn

  9. I found an old metal hat rack at a flea market, and I have it anchored on a bathroom wall - so far so good., however I think it might look even better with some of YOUR gorgeous necklaces ( just sayin') :-)

  11. I actually hung hooks in my closet. Large hooks like you would hang a sweater on because I have so many chunky big necklaces. I have three or four in a row and hang all of them on there. Another friend of mine bought a cheesy looking wood blanket holder the kind that people put in their bedrooms and spray painted it white. She hooks all of her jewelry on it (she has over 50 plus pieces) and keeps it in her closet but it actually looks really nice displayed and this comes from someone who doesn't like anything like that on display. It looks really nice. I've been on the hunt for one myself but they are harder to find in LA than in New England or down South.

  12. Love the jewelry trees you found. I too love all things bold and beautiful when it comes to jewelry. I use an oversized cork board, with clear push pins to hang all necklaces. And for bracelets and earrings, I purchased mini muffin pins at a discount store, and place my pieces in it. The muffin tins are stashed in an armoire drawer. A little creativity goes a long way.

  13. OMG love these! I just got a few more necklaces for Christmas and was thinking I have now crossed into the zone where I officially need a storage system for them. Right now they are cluttering up my top drawer where I have jewelry organizers with the earrings, bracelets, etc. No spot for the bigger necklaces!

  14. I bought 2 wood strips, each with 5 double metal hooks. they are on the corner wall behind my bedroom door. These easily hold over 75 necklaces and they are hanging according to color so they are easy to find. My rings and earings are in plastic drawers in ice cube trays, again, according to color....but i struggle with organizing all of my watches - they are just thrown in a plastic drawer!

  15. I use a freestanding jewlery box that I love and will admit I also have one of those dress form type jewlery hangers that I use for larger baubles.

  16. I have lines of clear thumb tacks in the wall of my bath. Did it completely for utilitarian purposes, but the baubles look fun showcased on my wall. Plus, I can get every individual piece without digging. Saw Nate Berkus use silver thumb tacks on self healing cork board (also in silver) all over a closet wall for same purpose. Validated =)

  17. Cork squares (rectangles I guess - picked up from Michaels for almost nothing. I found cute fabric (also on sale at Hobby Lobby) and wrapped them in it; simply used fabric glue and wrapped them like a package.

Hung on the wall in my walk in closet and use t-pins from the office supply store to hang everything.
